If you ask the majority of my friends and fellow Scrap Girls team members, they would probably tell you that I?m a very organized person. This aspect of my personality helps me with my everyday responsibilities in producing the Scrap Girls Newsletter.
My secret?
I love calendars! At this time every year, I start putting together a custom calendar to hang on my family?s fridge and to give as gifts for other family members, like my mother-in-law who is always so hard to shop for and who is always asking for more photos of her grandchildren. For the past five years, I?ve used Scrap Girls products to create these calendars.
Did you know that Scrap Girls is having a huge sale on all calendar products in the Boutique right now? This is a great time to get started on a calendar for your family or for holiday gift-giving!
You may think that creating your own calendar is time-consuming, and in this incredibly busy time of?year, you just don?t think you?have the time. But wait! Let me show you how fast and easy it can be!
Take this calendar page that I created using Jen Reed?s ScrapSimple Calendar Templates: 11?17 Monthly Layout Calendar ? 2013, for example?
I used Jen?s JIF Plus: 12?12 Reflections of the Heart layered PSD file for the layout spot on my calendar. I added my photo, clipped some papers from the coordinating Reflections of the Heart Collection Biggie, and -?voila!?- my calendar page for April 2013 is finished! Combining calendar templates with our JIF products makes a big project like a 12-month calendar something that can be whipped out in almost no time at all.
This year, it seems blended layout looks are all the rage. For January?s calendar page, I used Brandy Murry?s ScrapSimple Calendar Templates: 11?17 Blenders 2013 and combined it with Amanda Fraijo-Tobin?s Winter Magic Collection Mini. Using just one collection helped me speed up the process in putting this page together.
To color some parts of this layout template, I used Amanda?s ScrapSimple Tools ? Styles: Icicle Brights 6401 on the word January, the days of the week, and the snowflakes that outline the page.
When my 2013 calendar is complete and ready to be printed, I?ll send it off to an online printing company that will print and bind my calendar for me. I have to remember to order it early, so that it arrives in time for the holidays and the first of the year.
Scrap Girls has teamed up with MyPicTales.com to bring you a coupon for 30% off your calendar printing order! That?s a great deal, and I know I?ll be taking advantage of it this month!
Coupon Code: SG2013CAL

I have just one more calendar to show you! My daughters take several dance classes each week, and it?s difficult for them to keep track of the days they have class during the busy school year.
The great thing about Syndee Nuckles?s ScrapSimple Paper Templates: 8.5?11 Editable Calendars is that they can be customized for any month. You can use them over and over again, year after year! For this layout, I used Ang Campbell?s Girly Girl Collection Biggie and the coordinating Girly Girl Solids Paper Mini to add the pops of color that my daughters love.
Because these calendars are printed so near to the time I need to use them, I print them at home. And because they are 8.5?11-inch calendars, it?s easily done on a regular-size printer. That?s especially handy because, of course, each of my daughters wants her own copy for her bedroom wall!
I hope this article inspires you to create your own calendars! If you do, be sure to share your calendar creations in the Calendar section of the Scrap Girls Gallery!
Have fun,
Becca
