Kuan Hui Chew

Kuan Hui Chew was born and raised in Singapore.? She received her Pilates teaching certification at Kane School of Core Integration in 2003 and became their expert trainer soon after graduation. Kuan Hui has studied with Kelly Kane, Renee Orona, Marie-Jose Blom-Lawrence, Eric Franklin and Liz Koch to name a few. She has been consistently teaching continuing education workshops since 2004 for body workers at various studios, such as Kane School of Core Integration (New York), Kinected LLC. (New York), Erika Bloom Pilates Plus (New York), Pilates Garage (New York), Body Logic (Philadelphia), Indigo Pilates (New York) and so forth. Her areas of expertise include, psoas dysfunction, scoliosis, sacroilac joint dyafunction, sciatica and care for prenatal and postpartum population. Kuan Hui has guest taught dance technique and body conditioning classes at Beijing Dance Institute, Shanxi Province Performing Arts School, University of Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky University and Iona College, and has served as an adjunct lecturer at CUNY Queens College. She also teaches private clients at her studio in New York. Besides teaching, Kuan Hui is also actively performing. She was trained at Beijing Dance Institute in China, and earned her BFA in Dance from the University of Iowa. She was a recipient of the Singapore National Art Council Art Bursary (overseas). Kuan Hui has been performing with ZviDance since 2000, and has performed in The King and I (choreographed and adapted by Gemze DeLappe, directed by Paul Blake), as well as with AllNations Dance Company, Kristin Jackson Dance, Gary Vlasic, Amos Pinhasi and Catherine Mapp. Her choreography has been featured in the Singapore Arts Award Presentation Ceremony, Television Corporation of Singapore, Wu Yue Wu Xiang Studio Arts Troupe performances (Singapore), and Dancenow/Downtown Festival (New York).

Debra Goodman, MSPT

Debbi Goodman is a licensed manual physical therapist with specialties in women?s health, dance medicine, and sports medicine. She has been a physical therapist for Westside Dance Physical Therapy, New York City Ballet, School of American Ballet, and the Kane School. Debbi has had a private women?s health/orthopedic practice in New York City, and since moving to the Albany area in 2004, she has developed a private practice in the Capital District. Debbi is one of the few physical therapists trained in internal evaluation and treatment of the pelvic floor muscles. In addition, she is specifically skilled in treatment of pregnancy problems including: sciatica, back/neck pain, pelvic pain, and rib pain, and postpartum problems including: cesarean section recovery, urinary incontinence, pelvic/vaginal pain, and post-delivery scars. Debbi also teaches multiple continuing education workshops for physical therapists, trainers, and Pilates instructors focusing on educating professionals on exercise during pregnancy, and she is an instructor for prenatal and postpartum group fitness classes.

Kelly Kane

Kelly Kane is a world-renowned Pilates educator with over 15 years of experience. Seeking to incorporate an understanding of the human body into the classical Pilates genre, Kelly opened the Kane School in 1999 as a holistic body college founded on anatomical knowledge to improve strength and stability. She initially studied with Romana Kryzanowska and Hila Paldi and obtained her certification through the Pilates Institute in Santa Fe, N.M. Kelly completed two years of the BodyMind Centering teacher-training program and received her massage certification at the Florida School of Massage. Her manual therapy repertoire includes Structural Integration, CranioSacral Therapy and Visceral Manipulation, and she cultivated her exceptional manual perception skills at the New Jersey School of Medicine and Dentistry. Since 1993, Kelly has studied Iyengar yoga as well as anatomy and postural assessment with neuro-muscular movement specialist Irene Dowd, and her expertise also includes GYROTONIC? and Continuum Movement.

Matt McCulloch

A classically-trained dancer, Matt began studying Pilates twenty years ago as part of his own rehabilitation program from an anterior cruciate ligament injury. He is trained in both original and contemporary approaches and brings a well-rounded perspective on movement to both his clients and students. A teacher at heart, Matt is committed to providing the highest quality education for movement professionals. Prior to founding Kinected, he served as an Instructor Trainer for STOTT Pilates and as Director of Training and Education Operations for Pilates Academy International. Over the past decade, he has educated several hundred instructors, creating workshops and teaching tools that promote a balanced knowledge of biomechanics and injuries. Additionally, Matt is a National Academy of Sports Medicine certified trainer and a GYROKINESIS? and GYROTONIC? instructor. As the studio director of Kinected, Matt oversees all clientele and education services. He works with a broad range of clients, including professional dancers, competitive athletes, and individuals recovering from injuries.

Christine Romani-Ruby,?PT, MPT, ATC, PMA CPI

Christine is an experienced Pilates professional and international presenter with a strong background in physical therapy and fitness. She is the founder and director of PHI Pilates and PHI Pilates Studio based in Pittsburgh, PA, an associate professor at California University of Pennsylvania, and a member of the faculty at the Ballet Academy of Pittsburgh. Gold certified in Pilates through the PMA and serving on the PMA certification commission, she has contributed to the Pilates community with the publication of six books, 13 DVD?s, and multiple articles, podcasts and international workshops and presentations. Chrissy holds a masters degree in physical therapy from Slippery Rock University and has practiced as an orthopedic and sports PT for 20 years. She holds bachelor?s degrees in both exercise science and natural science and a certificate in athletic training. Presently she is a doctoral candidate in education at Indiana University of PA. Christine has incorporated Pilates into her practice as a physical therapist for over 13 years and she is known by teachers around the world for unselfishly sharing her ideas and techniques for the benefits of clients and patients. Her 4000 square foot Pilates studio in Pittsburgh is well known to clients for rehabilitation and conditioning and to teachers for continuing education.

Dianne Wise

Dianne Wise?received her Pilates?mat and full equipmentcertification from Kelly Kane at The Kane School of Core Integration.?She is currently a?teacher trainer, private anatomy tutor, and?pilates?instructor for?Kinected?Center.?Dianne?has taught?on?several?pilates?retreats?including La?Serrania?in?Spain and?Cascina?Papaveri??in?Italy. She is also a guest instructor atCobham?Pilates?and?Alderley?Pilates?in the UK.?Prior to receiving her?pilates?certification, she earned?a?B.A. in Dance from?DeSales?University?and continued to?dance?professionally in?NYC,?Las Vegas,?and Florida.?She also worked as a Physical Therapy Aide for?Orthopedic Care Physical Therapy?Center in New Jersey and later taught post-rehab Pilates Mat.?Her background has molded her teaching to emphasize the power of movement and core stability and caters to the needs of a wide spectrum of clients: whether injured, pre/post natal or fitness minded.
