Aperture updates with iCloud photo sharing, improvements

Apple has updated Aperture with some new features, improvements, and fixes. Aperture now supports iCloud photo sharing, including posting videos to a shared photo stream. Multiple people can now also contribute their photos and videos to a shared stream. SmugMug is now supported, and you can publish and sync galleries directly to a SmugMug account. Aperture now supports iOS 7 camera filters for photos imported from iOS.

There have been a number of other improvements as well. The reliability of adding names to Faces has been improved. The Places feature now uses Apple Maps instead of Google Maps to display locations. Captions will now be synced between Aperture and Facebook for newly-created albums instead of version names. Printing light tables is now more reliable, along with viewing slideshows on the first-generation 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display.

There are also a number of fixes with this release of Aperture, which is available for free on the Mac App Store.
